Integers:

The collection of natural numbers {1,2,3,4,5...}, zero {0} and negative numbers {-1, -2, -3, -4, -5...} are Integers. We use letter Z to represent the integers.

Temperature at 5 a.m = - 10°C After 6 hours it increased to 14°C so the temperature at 11 a.m = - 10°C + 14°C = 4°C

A fish was at 16 feet below the surface of sea means -16 feet and it went down another 17 feet So its position from surface is -16 + (-17) = -16 - 17 = - 33 ft

Profit means positive and Loss means negative Profit on Monday = + 250
Loss on Tuesday = - 120
Loss on Wednesday = - 180
Total amount = + 250 + (-120 ) + (-180) = 250 - 120 - 180 = 250 - 300 = -50 He got a loss of 50 rupees after 3 days.
